Franshine Young from Disability Action commented:
“Management has engaged with our organisation in a very open and positive way to overcome any perceived barriers to recruitment. Formula Karting makes sure that trainees and disabled employees are fully included in the team and they have embraced the Workable programme as a positive action. Formula Karting has secured a valued employee and has tailored a job to match the employee skills and abilities.”
Since opening their doors in February 1992, Formula Karting has played a vital role in the community within Newry and Mourne and the surrounding areas. We work with a number of charities throughout the year and run various events to help raise money. The strategy the company implemented when it comes to charities is very simple, help as much as we can. We not only provide activities, vital funds and vouchers, but we also help to promote charity events and help engage new people. Many of the charities we have worked with have touched the hearts of our staff members and we therefore remember the hard work and dedication applied by these charities. This is the main reason for the organisation to be so active in the community and we have been committed to a number of charities for the past 10 years or more.
Here are some of the organisation’s we have helped.
We would like to thank Formula Karting for their continued help and support of our local Hospice. It is such a fantastic venue for holding a fundraiser and we appreciate all the work that they do for us throughout the year. We must fundraise £2.2 million pounds this year and it is with your help that we are able to provide the services and support to our patients. Many Thanks.
Rachel Quinn, Events Officer
Jim, I would like to thank you and your team for your help and support on Sunday 20th June with the Fathers day event. Thank you so much for allowing us to use your premises and for the use of the Formula Karting cars, Ford Focus RS and WRC. The WRC created a lot of interest on the day and we could not keep up with the demand. The event raised nearly £4,000 and we hope to run it again next year, but this time at Bishopscourt track, I will keep in touch and hopefully you will be wiling to help us next year. Your continued support to Tiny Life is greatly appreciated.
On behalf of the Newry and District Alzheimer's branch we would like to thank you most sincerely for the generous donations of £5003.20 sterling and €81.29. As you are aware we are a voluntary organisation and therefore dependant on donations to fund our services. We fully appreciate the time and effort that it takes to plan and co-ordinate an event of this type. We would like to assure you that the money raised will be used towards alleviating the distress caused to people with dementia and their carers by the Alzheimer's Outreach Service and Respite Scheme. Your support is extremely important to us, so once again, thank you for your consideration.
